Eric Michael Cap has co-written & produced 9 killer Pop-Soul-Funk tracks for former James Brown backing vocalist Laurice Monica with U.K. based BMI songwriter Dave Coe. In addition to touring with the GodFather of Soul, Laurice also appeared as his wife in Blues Brothers 2000. A 12" vinyl single "It's A Funky Thang" (Trk01) has also been released in the U.K./Europe & is receiving extensive Radio & Club play, while "Watching the City Come Alight" (Trk02) is a favourite album cut. Both discs can be purchased directly from the Honey Groove U.K. website, CDBaby, and now on iTunes. Two other demo songs were also produced & recorded by Tai Lewis but are not included on this initial CD*.
Laurice was reviewed in Octobers Blues & Soul Magazine (U.K.). Here's a quote:
"Best of the bunch though is 'Watching the City Come Alight'. It's got a decent melody, an infectious chorus and the tempo is just above a ballad, you know the kind of beat beloved of modern soul boys. Through it all Laurice's voice is strong and soulful and again we make the point that real soul is out there it just needs searching out". - Bill Buckley
The song debut @ #12 on their Autumn Soul Chart (beating some famous names).
